Many wonder if they must spend a lot of money on product inventory in order to sell Amway™ products. Absolutely not. While it’s up to each Independent Business Owner (IBO) to decide how to sell Amway products and manage their business, there are no purchase requirements for IBOs – ever. No exceptions.
Not only is this an Amway rule, it’s also part of the Direct Selling Association’s Code of Ethics: A direct selling company “will not encourage salespeople to purchase unreasonable amounts of inventory or sales aids.”
Amway supports IBOs with an efficient and affordable shipping operation. That means Amway products can be sent to the IBO for delivery to customers or directly to the individual customers who purchased them – no inventory required.
Some IBOs, however, choose to keep their own inventory of Amway products. This allows them to show or demonstrate the products to customers in-person. They also can have them on hand for various IBO or customer events or to be able to quickly provide them to customers upon purchase without the need for shipping. As independent business owners, their Amway selling strategy is entirely their choice.
Yes, IBOs can and do provide Amway product samples. In fact, Amway samples are an easy and effective way for IBOs to make connections with potential customers. Free samples leave customers with a positive impression about the Amway business. After all, who doesn’t want to try something before they buy it?
Within the first 30 days of registering, new IBOs have the opportunity to purchase Starter Stacks, a customizable selection of full-size products that come with dozens of free Amway samples to be used with customers.
In addition to the Starter Stack samples available to new IBOs, there are several more Amway samples available for all IBOs to purchase. They include makeup, skin care, nutrition and sports nutrition products. And some products come in convenient, single-serve packaging that makes them easy to share with potential customers.
