Amway’s commitment to quality products

Every product Amway produces and sells is packaged, made and tested according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This ensures that the highest of standards are applied to every product, every time.

Amway also conducts more than 25,000 quality control tests every month and performs more than 500,000 other types of evaluations, from testing our raw materials to ensuring the stability and levels of the macro- and micronutrients in our products. We do all of this, and more, as we strive to ensure customer satisfaction with the quality of every Amway product.

Testing our products involves three broad categories:

• Purity of the product: This includes testing for impurities, making sure they don't contain parabens or sulfate surfactants.
• Safety of the product: The product is tested for compatibility, yeast and mold absence, toxicology review, skin sensitivity and pH.
• Effectiveness of the product: Clinical testing, stability testing, active ingredient performance, shelf-life testing, packaging leak testing, etc.

Amway researchers constantly innovate across all of our brands, as evidenced by more than 750 patents and patents pending. These patents cover new and better production processes, packaging designs, nutrient delivery methods and more.

Amway also ensures that IBOs are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell, offering training courses and in-person or virtual tours of our facilities, making our scientists accessible to them and continuously ensuring they have the best materials to share with their customers.

Traceability at Amway

Traceability is another one of the keys to Amway’s ability to deliver high-quality products and earn customers' trust. When products are traceable, you know exactly where each ingredient comes from and how it travels through the supply chain to arrive at your door.

At Amway, traceability starts with the reason each raw ingredient was chosen, down to the specific seed strain of botanicals, where they were grown and who handled them on their journey to the final product. That includes everything from planting and harvesting to processing and shipping to each and every one of those tests for purity, quality, safety and effectiveness done along the way.

The traceability of the ingredients gives you assurance that they are effective and authentic, not diluted or adulterated. This results in products you can feel good about using and recommending to others, contributing to our true commitment to quality.

Organic farming: Nutrilite farming practices

In order to maintain our commitment to quality, Amway owns and operates four certified organic farms in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil. The plants and botanicals grown on these farms fuel many Amway products, including Nutrilite™ vitamins and supplements and Artistry™ skin care. Crops include acerola cherry, blueberry, valerian, nettle root, spinach and alfalfa among many others.

We do not use synthetic pesticides or herbicides on our farms. Falconry, for instance, is a practice we use on our farms in the U.S. to prevent pest birds from causing damage. A worm farm at our Mexico location provides natural fertilization for the plants and a place to compost leftovers from harvesting and other organic scraps. 

When we need an ingredient that we can't grow on our own farms, we look to partner farms across regions and climates. We go wherever the highest quality ingredient can be grown based on soil quality, organic practices, fair worker treatment and other stringent requirements.

Our partner farms must be certified under our NutriCert™ program, which requires them to be traceable, ecologically sustainable, socially responsible and held to the highest standards, just like our Nutrilite farms.

Because we own and operate our certified organic farms and insist on high standards at our partner farms, we are able to offer a wide variety of Amway products with consistent quality, safety and effectiveness. And our sustainable practices benefit the plants, the earth and our customers.

Our commitment to science

Some of the brightest minds in the world support Amway's quality products. We have nearly 800 scientists, technicians and engineers on our Innovation and Science team who hold over 200 advanced degrees collectively. We also work with a team of Scientific Advisors who are experts in health, wellness, nutrition and skincare and provide input to our scientific studies and connect us to the latest research and innovation in their fields.

Amway's commitment to science has been recognized by numerous organizations, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s Safer Choice program, which helps consumers identify and select products that have safer ingredients without sacrificing quality or performance. The Safer Choice program has recognized 43 Amway Home Care formulas.

For more than 30 years, Amway's water treatment systems have been certified by NSF, the world leader in standards development for public health, safety and protection of the environment. The British Allergy Foundation has also given Amway's Atmosphere™ air purifier system its Seal of Approval, a globally recognized endorsement that the product has been independently and scientifically proven to reduce or remove allergens from the environment.
